😶🌫️ Time To Act Joe 😶🌫️
GM Everyone,
Cannabis feels ALIVE, and I'm not talking about our little investing bubble that we've been living in for the last couple of years. This weekend was 4/20, and the mainstream media seemed to have turned a little greener, with even The White House getting in on the fun (cringe). It would seem as though cannabis has arrived, as the societal stigma has been mostly erased. However, at the same time, we have not seen a drop of change from a governmental perspective, and the time for that change is NOW. The archaic rules and regulations that apply to cannabis are sitting there ready to be rewritten. The processes to do so have been put into motion, and now the only thing left to do is ACT. Get it done, Joe.

Biden and Harris have become advocates?!!?!
SAFER actually has momentum where it needed to get it
The entire country is pretty much behind legalizing the plant
MSOS Mondays is back this week like it never left
Capital Markets this Morning:
The futures are up this morning almost a half of a percent. Here is what is in focus globally for stocks:
Nvidia's 10% Friday drop highlights a rough week for tech stocks, with significant falls in the sector despite broader market stability.
Decline in safety trades: U.S. crude and gold prices drop as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East ease without escalation.
Tech sector anticipation: Earnings updates due this week from Tesla, Meta, Microsoft, and Alphabet as part of the 'Magnificent 7'.
Dollar and Treasury yields rise: U.S. dollar strengthens and Treasury yields climb amid solid economic data and expectations of prolonged high interest rates.
Bank of England’s dovish outlook: Sterling hits 5-month low following comments from BoE deputy governor on expected inflation drop.
Cannabis in Washington: Biden and Harris Advocate for Marijuana Legalization
The TDR Takeaway: I first learned about 4-20 a decade ago while walking in downtown Vancouver, where people celebrated cannabis in a local park. Fast forward a decade to this Saturday, and the President and Vice President of the US used social media to advocate for federal marijuana legalization and justice system reform on 4/20, highlighting the issue's importance in an election year. Does this indicate that SAFE Banking and Marijuana Legalization are on the horizon? For additional details, visit the TDR website.
Cannabis Regulation: Cannabis SAFER Banking Crypto Legislation Deadline May 10?
The TDR Takeaway: The mainstream status of cannabis is highlighted by its coverage in Barron's. As part of the Wall Street Journal network, Barron's targets an affluent and older readership . This weekend, Barron's explored the possibility of Congress passing the Cannabis SAFER Banking Act with crypto legislation and the FAA reauthorization law by May 10th. Is the mainstream coverage a sign we are getting close to passing SAFER Banking Act? For more details, visit the TDR website!
Cannabis Poll: Marijuana Legalization: U.S. Poll Reveals Major Support
The TDR Takeaway: Another poll in the USA shows strong support for marijuana legalization. The latest Harris Poll reveals that nearly six in ten adults are surprised marijuana has not yet been legalized nationwide. Released on Thursday, the report also indicates that four in ten U.S. adults currently use cannabis, with approximately a quarter of these consumers using it at least weekly. Additionally, nearly two-thirds (64 percent) believe that marijuana no longer carries the stigma it once did. This is particularly significant in an election year when presidential candidates are competing for votes. For more details, visit the TDR website!
Psychedelic Studies: Psychedelic Study: LSD Microdosing Improves Sleep
The TDR Takeaway: Recent studies are increasingly highlighting the positive effects of psychedelic medicine. A study released last week showed that microdosing LSD can improve sleep. This finding, alongside previously studied mental health benefits, underscores the significant potential of these medicines for everyday applications like improving sleep quality. For more information, read about it on the TDR website!
AI: The Global Challenge of AI Deep Fakes in Politics
The TDR Takeaway: As the US election approaches, the role of AI in elections, particularly in India, is noteworthy. There, popular influencers have been misrepresented in widely distributed AI deepfake videos that falsely suggest they hold certain political views. This situation prompts important questions: Has technology advanced faster than our ability to regulate it, and how can we safeguard our electoral systems against AI deepfakes? Read about it on the TDR website!
